Permission To Move

We work closely with leading scientists to translate modern pain research into tools that are useful. We have been focused on this problem for more than 10 years. We understand how difficult it is. We also understand that the problem is too important to remain unsolved.

Our tools help people regain control over chronic pain by understanding and changing the systems that produce it. Better knowledge leads to better choices, and better choices improve outcomes. By learning more about pain, you can develop the skills to treat it.

Team

Our mission is to help people recover from pain and return to the things that matter most. We are passionate about making recovery simple, because pain can feel so complex. Over the past decade, we've been privileged to work with thousands of people in our clinic and seen great results, with this success, we recognised our responsibility to share and improve outcomes for as many people as possible. We have worked together to transform what works in the clinic into a book for health professions, online chronic pain treatment and recovery courses, and resources. We're continually refining and improving our ideas to make them as effective as possible.

Dave Moen is the founder of Permission To Move and is an innovator in the pain science field having worked together with  Professor Lorimer Moseley, a world-renowned clinical scientist and physiotherapist, as part of the Body in Mind research group. Dave is committed to improving outcomes for people with persistent pain. This idea has challenged him to find new ways to do healthcare.

We test and improve our ideas amongst our peers working in the field as well as our colleagues in our clinic Toby Moen, Jack Murphy, James Cosenza, Jack Elsworthy, and Tom Chisholm.

Business Model

We're deeply invested in our clinical work and in creating the best outcomes. Our clinical practice makes it possible for us to invest in creating tools and resources that we share through our online platform.

Our clinical practice enables us to invest in creating tools and resources that we share through our online platform. We are independent and self-funded because we believe deeply in this work.

Our courses and book sales supports our mission to build a self-sustaining and continually improving health care platform. In exchange for your support, we offer our best ideas and we continue to share our growing set of tools and resources.

Roadmap

Here you can see what we have published, what we are currently working on, and see ways in which you might be able to contribute. We want to build in public so we are open to new opportunities, growth, and expertise.

“It’s quite remarkable, the mind, brain, and body interaction. I am now managing the pain, and the body is starting to control it, but in the last two or three weeks it’s been absolutely dramatic, to be honest, it’s extraordinary, and pleasing, phenomenal, I am very pleased.”

“It plays on your mind over and over again, like a stuck record, but finally got something done about it”

“Increasing your mind strength and your body strength.”

“Your thought process is a very powerful thing, you can channel which way it goes and rewire it in different directions”

“Whole fresh ideas were just amazing. They clicked with me, because it didnt involve somebody saying, you need to take this or you need to take that, it was just amazing.”
